Chicago is pretty great.

3) Have you found real love yet?
Yes, with my children.

4) What's one thing you eat almost everyday?
Cheese.  ♥ it!!

5) What was your last thought before falling asleep last night?
I really want to watch another episode of Torchwood on Netflix, but 6 am comes early!

6) What's the worst injury you had as a child?
I got bitten on the rear end by a German Shepard while staying at a friend's house.  We didn't tell anyone because I didn't want to go home.  My mother FREAKED out when I finally showed her.  One of the few times I've seen my mother cry.

7) Will you/have you worked out today?
No, but I should.

8) Do you tweet? If so, what's your name?
I have an account I never use.  I'm fluffyduck or something like that.

9) List three things you wouldn't want to live without:
Summertime, digging in the dirt and books.

10) Hold old were you when you had your first kiss?
I think I was 10.  My sisters and I french kissed a boy my mother babysat.  She caught us and told us we were going to pass germs.  LOL (After posting this, I got to thinking maybe it sounds kind of bad.  The boy was 12 at the time I think.  And there was nothing romantic about this kiss.  It was a "let's do something we've seen grown-ups do.  what's it all about" sort of thing.  My first "romantic" kiss came at 15, and I have to say, he was a bad kisser.)

Creating my own stress!

So I totally wish I had something fun and interesting to share.
No love.

This has been a long and arduous week.
My oldest has been home sick.
One extra kid shouldn't add that much more stuff to my to do list, but it does.

My laundry is towering.
My dishes, ugh, I hate dishes.
I need to vacuum and change all the sheets and mop under the kitchen table.
And next week is my middle son's birthday and birthday party.
SOOOOO unprepared.

So, why do I sit here typing when there are so many other things that need my attention, you ask?
'Cause I'm crazy like that.

How many video game systems do you own?

I am a video game widow.
I know I am not the only girl in this position.
Or guy, for that matter.

If you have no idea what I am talking about,
YOU are so lucky.

There's no stopping this thing...
He surrounds himself with people who encourage it.
Gamer friends and family who buy game systems as gifts!
He got a gift certificate to the video game shop this year, and he spent some of it on points.

Well,
one of the kids accidentally spent almost all his points.
On a download add on to a game he doesn't even own!

Is it bad that I am trying not to laugh out loud?

Of course he had his little tiffy moment -
Even after I explained the kids weren't on the xbox all day yesterday!
It had to be the kids randomly pushing buttons or sitting on the dang remote,
A one in a million accident!!

Then before bed he imparts that at least it was a download for a game he actually wants to buy.
SWEET.

p.s.  The answer to that question is 7  in my household.
Yep, scary.

♪ I’m going off the rails on this crazy train ♪

Ok, I made this really cute craft last week.  (Well, at least I think it’s really cute.)  But this craft comes with a story.  A story of breaking down and losing control and rebuilding from the ground up.  (Yes, I have a flair for the dramatic!)
My kids, aged 6, 3 and 1, like to fight at the dinner table.  They specifically like to fight about who is sitting where (next to whom and why).  This fighting often ends in tantrums and tears and sometimes hitting/wrestling.  Sigh.
I know kids fight.  Mine fight often and loudly.  It’s just that dinner time is my worst time of the day.  My patience is at it’s lowest point.  I’m tired and hungry and irritable.  I want to go in my room and just be alone.  But dinner must be made.  The wee beasties demand sustenance.
On the fateful day my head blew off and drama was unleashed full force on my household, Jeff’s nephew was here visiting (and Jeff’s sister and niece walked right through the door  at the moment of my meltdown – lucky them!).  The kids were doing their regular bickering, and I had told Jeff’s nephew to come eat.  He, being so nice, offered to trade seats with Ethan as he was complaining the loudest.  I ignored him, not to be mean but because I knew if I said yes then Noah would start screeching.  So I waited to see if it would just be dropped or if they would sort it out on their own.  Yeah, right.  He asked me again like 4 times.  And then I exploded.  I DON’T CARE WHERE YOU SIT!  So Jeff berated me for yelling and I snapped back at him.  It was ugly.  Pure and simple.  Jeff’s nephew cried and their family left without saying good-bye.  I spent the rest of my night feeling like a complete jerk and beating myself up for losing control of my temper.  I apologized to all three of them ,and then turned to my best girl Teresa for some straight talk and love.  I’ve known her since the 5th grade (we were matched up as pen pals!), and she always gives the best advice.
t and me

She told me to stop being so hard on myself.  That everyone yells and loses control of themselves.  Just apologize and let it go.  Then she said her boys do the same thing at dinner time.  She does a reward system where if they sit in their assigned seat without fussing/fighting they get a star.  At ten stars, they get a Happy Meal.
I figured anything was better than WWIII in my dining room.  So I started with a sheet of paper with their names written on it and star stickers.  And it worked!  The only change I made was to label our chairs with letters, and the kids get to draw their seat assignment rather than me telling them where to sit.  The only issues I had was that it was hard to remove stars for really bad behavior, and I was going through a lot of paper.  I wanted something re-usable and permanent.
So this is what I did.

I cut stars out of card stock and scrapbooking paper.

Then I applied some snipped magnet strips with stick-um on one side that my sister game me.

I cut out little name tags and put magnets on the back of them as well.  And I also cut out a few 1’s and 2’s, so I could keep track of how many Happy Meals they are owed since we don’t always get right out to Mickey D’s.

I love it.  And so do the kids.

Now if I could only find a way to get my middle kid to stop saying “I haaaattttteeeee this!” to everything I serve.  :)

Woo-hoo! Welcome to my bliggity blog!

I am so excited to start this!!  I'm new to blogs.  One of my new year's resolutions was to be more crafty (something I enjoyed before kids, but lost track of after kids) and it led me into the world of blogging.  Holy cow!!  There are a lot of crafty people out there in the blogging community.  And isn't this nice?  Here I come, joining the ranks.
Color me happy.  I promise to try to entertain as well as amaze.  (Sorry, I almost peed my pants from laughing so hard!)  It's like I always tell my loving man Jeff, I've got some mad skills.  I just don't know which is better, the skills or the crazy!  Trust me, you are going to get your fair share of both on this blog.

So sit down, strap in and hold on!!
